Linux Versions: From Easiest to Most Difficult

OK: I have SOLVED the Linux Debate--here are some versions of Linux listed in order of difficulty, so you can select the one that is right for you.

Bear in mind that many versions of both Linux and BSD now come in 'Live CD' versions, which are 'no risk' ways of 'trying without installing' whichever one strikes your fancy, without every installing it to your hard drive and risk messing up your files.

Note: 'Live CD' OSs are installed directly into RAM memory, without ever touching any files on your hard drive--however, the one drawback to this is all files then become 'read only' and without some rather elaborate tinkering [ie: Knoppix], cannot be saved.

[Some] Linux Versions, from Easiest to Most Difficult [I'm not going to list ALL 123 version of Linux here!]:

--Ubuntu

--Suse

--Fedora

--Slackware

--Gentoo [Advanced users ONLY!]

Anyone who can use windows, can use Ubuntu.

Beginning with Slackware, you find these versions of Linux are what's known as the 'most UNIX-like' of the all the versions of Linux and, especially with Gentoo, you had BETTER have some straight, Command Line experience in UNIX in order to use them, because the support communities for these versions do not suffer fools gladly and you are more likely than not to get the dreaded advice: "RTFM" [Read the Fuckin' Manual] screamed at you as anything else--so DO YOUR HOMEWORK first, before asking questions in those User Forums!
