OK, so I'll admit, I tried the new beta version of Suse 10.3 [Gnome] and found it a bit buggy, plus had a hell of a time getting it to work with my NIC, so I decided to revert back to an recent favorite of mine, which I have neglected to mention until now: Kate OS.
I know, the name's a bit girly-sounding, but it's a great little version of Linux, based loosely on Slackware, I believe, and sporting the Xfce Desktop which is light on RAM usage and pleasing to the eye.
So, it's similar to other 'lightweight' Linux versions, which use Xfce, such as Zenwalk [another nice little distro], Slackware and SAM, and I can tell you, on 3 Gigs of RAM, it really screams!
So, if you like the above mentioned 'lightweight' Linuxes, you might think for trying Kate OS--even you 'macho' guys! LOL!
